In the Pair Junior Level, students learn how to recognize common chess patterns and how to use these patterns as tactics to gain the advantage in a game.  The student will develop the skills to analyze the different options of each move and try to find out the best move by thinking ahead.  Our coach will introduce two to four chess openings for white and black and examine some common opening traps with tactics. Coaches will ask students to practice chess tactics and pair students to practice games with these openings and tactics. The coaches will analyze their games and recommend the areas of weakness that students can work on. The classes at this level are recommended for students with a USCF rating 600 to 900 or at a comparable level. There are exact two students in this group.
